Who, What, and When We Are

Business has been booming. Lots of people that have not made it out here have been checking the website for information. Then they come by and tell me how bad the website is. I know, I know. I don’t do a good job updating it. It’s my bad. So here is the quick and the dirty as to what Exit 6 is all about. First, the hours. We open at 4 pm 7 days a week. We have 23 beers on tap. 5 of them are made here. NOTHING is made by AB-In Bev, Miller, or Coors. Our tap list changes weekly. We are always putting on something new. For an up to date draft list, you can find us on www.taplister.com I usually keep that completely up to date. Feel free to give us a call with any questions that you can not find the answer to here. 636-244-4343 Thanks, look forward to seeing you soon!

So I guess it might be time to update this place

Strangely enough, working 100+ hours a week does lend a lot of time to update the website. I’m trying though. Couple of things going on right now, first, we have new summer hours. We open at 4 pm every day and stay open as late as the law lets us. We have 5 beers on tap made here right now. We have the award winning Vanilla Cream, Ryanes Red, APA, the ever popular Razmanian Devil (raspberry, jalapeno cream ale), and a very limited release Peach Lambic. I will do my best to start updating this more often in the future. I want everyone to know the latest. For absolute up to the minute details, follow us on facebook and twitter and sign up for our newsletter. I know many of you are wondering about growlers. I spoke to the manufacturer today. They have been shipped. They are going to the screen printers now and should be in my hands in approximately 6 weeks.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Exit 6

Cottleville’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities are quickly becoming an annual tradition. 2012 is Exit 6’s first St. Patrick’s day open for business and we’re doing our part to make this March 17th unforgettable. Whether you’re coming out for the run, the parade or just to have a good time, Exit 6 is your place to be. We’ll be featuring:

Extended Hours – The “Run for the Helmet” starts at 9AM and so will we.

A Beer Garden – Enjoy your beer in our beer tent with plenty of outdoor seating.

New Brews – We’ll have an Irish Red and an Irish Stout on tap. Both brewed right here in Cottleville.

Live Music – Live music starts at 3PM with hair band inspired “Silent Doom” headlining.

March Madness – 6 TVs for sports fans to catch the 3rd round of March Madness.

Help us add to the growing tradition of St. Patrick’s Day this year at Exit 6. We hope you’ll come early, stay late and drink responsibly. We are located at 5055 Hwy N in Cottleville, MO just 4 miles from Hwy 40 and just a few more from 70 off Highway 94. If you have any questions call us at 636-244-4343.

Yeah! The Website is Fixed!

Ok, I know the website has not been updated much (ok, at all) for the last several months. My bad. But the memory issues have been fixed and we can access the works again. So check back often for future updates.

As of now though, WE ARE OPEN! Beer is flowing, good times are being had. We open at 4pm 7 days a week. We’ll also have our own beer on tap in about 2 weeks. You don’t want to miss it!

Some upcoming events at Exit 6, Thursday Sept 8th you can be the first to try Brown-Eye P.A. This is the Pro-Am beer from O’Fallon Brewery and the Garage Brewers Society. The recipe was designed by Jim Leabig. It took best of show at the GBS in house competition and was brewed by O’Fallon to be entered into the Pro-Am comp at the Great American Beer Fest in Denver. The beer will be premiered at Exit 6 this Thursday. It will be available on draft and on cask. The cask beer is dry hopped with an extra pound of Simcoe.

On Friday September 16th we will have another special release of a cask beer. This time, all the way from Germany, Aecht Schlenkela Reischbier Marzen (forgive the spelling, I’m guessing here and don’t feel like looking it up). This beer is, in my opinion, the best smoke beer in the world. It has been described by many as “Bacon in a Bottle”. It is a truely amazing beer and this opportunity should not be missed!

That’s all I have today. Check back often as the website will be updated much more frequently now the the issues are fixed.

So what’s the latest you ask?

I wish I knew. I was shooting to open July 15, but that looks like it is going to be very difficult. Not my fault though. The feds, the city, the vendors, the POS….these things are tough to deal with. They may delay me a bit. I can say we will be open before the end of the month. (we better be!) We may not have our own beer on tap right away (the feds are the toughest) but it will still be the best place to get a beer in St Charles! Keep checking back. I promise I will be updating this site more often once things slow down a bit with construction. I’m averaging 15 hour days right now trying to get this place open. For up to date information, you can follow us on facebook at www.facebook.com/exitsix I update that a lot more often. I also hope you all saw the article in the Post Dispatch from Evan Benn. If not, check it out here. http://t.co/jEbH9Az

Things are really moving now!

So the June 1st date is not happening. We hit a few snags with the city but everything has been worked out and they have started construction. We are now looking at opening sometime in early July.  We have a really great line up of beers ready to go.  Aside from commercial examples from brewerys like Stone, Firestone Walker, Founders, and Bells, we will also offer 5 different beers made in house.  We’ll have our standard 3 beers on all the time.  We have a great APA that comes in around 40 IBUs with lots of late hop additions.  We have an American Amber coming in at over 70 IBUs.  To round out our constants, our vanilla cream ale, which is a great beer for the ‘entry level’ craft beer drinkers will also be available.  The other 2 taps will constantly rotate.  We’ll have a seasonal beer on to go with the times.  That tap will consist of Oktoberfests, Evil Pumpkin (9% pumpkin porter), IIPAs, Wit, etc.  You might even find a fruit beer or two for those hot summer days.  The 5th tap will be awesome.  With the size of our brewery, it gives us lots of freedom to make whatever we want.  And thats just what we will do.  Barrel aged beers, high gravity beers, smoked beers, Russian Imperials, belgians, all of these will be staples of the 5th Tap.  We can’t wait to get open.  We hope you are just as excited as us.

We’ll Be Open Soon!

Welcome to Exit 6 Brewery. Home of “No Compromise Brewing”!
June 1st is our target opening date. Lots of things need to happen first but it won’t be long and St Charles Countys first nano-brewery will be open for business. In house brewed beers won’t be the only thing you can get. We’ll have at least 15 other craft beers on tap. Craft beer and craft beer only. No crap on tap! We’ll also have a wide selection of bottles to choose from. We won’t have the widest selection in town, but we’ll have the best. Exit 6 was founded and is run by beer guys. We know what’s good and we will only carry the best the industry has to offer. If we won’t drink it, we won’t sell it! Please check back often to see the progress we are making and to keep tabs on when we will be open for sure.
